NSW State Election

In anticipation of the March 26 election, formal policies on Indigenous affairs have been released by both NSW Labor and the Greens NSW. Both policies include a commitment to retaining the Aboriginal Land Rights Act 1983 (NSW) and making some further amendments to this legislation, particularly in relation to governance in Aboriginal Land Councils.

The NSW Liberal Party and NSW National Party have not released formal policies on their websites, but the Shadow Minister for Healthy Lifestyles, Aboriginal Affairs & Western NSW, Kevin Humphries has made a number of speeches and media releases about the Coalition’s position on Indigenous affairs.
